5th THING

Homosexuality is not a sin — this is a reality understood by most, except for the religious and those affected by their influence.

During the time of Moses, there were individuals who could be considered early precursors of today’s transgender community — men who had completely removed their penis and testicles, either by cutting or crushing, due to the absence of modern surgical methods for gender reassignment. These individuals, often regarded as distinct from other men, were treated as women in certain respects. For example, they were not permitted to join the male assemblies that took place three times a year during Israel’s nationwide gatherings.

Yet, despite not fulfilling their traditional roles as males within their community, they were neither persecuted nor punished.
